Day, If your interested I have just harvested a mass cross of about 7-8 varities of hulless I planted as a start of a landrace, and grex I will probably keep going for breeding material. just planted all together no hand crosses, but I have a huge pollinator population here, I found at least 4 tomato crosses and a couple beans this season alone! so it should be well and truly crossed. your quite welcome to seed if you want or anybody else for that matter. (I live in Australia though)

OK so while harvesting the seeds from the hulless mass cross, one in particular had thicker flesh than most. It had that look about it like spaghetti squash, with all the little grainy bits in the flesh. So I thought I would bake the half upside down in the oven for 50 mins. Well when it was done I scraped a fork across the flesh, and it came apart in strings just like a spaghetti squash, tasted just like a spaghetti squash. I have noticed this type of grainy flesh in alot of pepo varieties but never tested it out before. Me thinks spaghetti squash flesh isn't a unique and rare phenotype only in "spaghetti" squash. I think I might select for this trait in the hulless LR, make them abit more appealing..

Last year, all of my naked seeds were not and the squash was bitter as all get out. So, I guess I should have done that back cross.
