These are the fruit that i think have not been pollinated as they are tasteless and have hollow seeds, these are only good for hen tucker. Its a trait that Green chestnut has always had and its showing itself again in this years F3 grow out, is its an unpolluted fruit? grew Green chestnut for 20+years and it always grew 20% like this, full size seeds husk but is hollow. I often get this in hot weather, in many varieties of squash. I think the embryos abort. May not be your problem, or even mine, but it is just the explanation I have come up with.

Well trombincinos do. Anyway, I may be wrong but I guess that the embryos abort after pollination.
