So many if not all the new houses being built today here in NZ have dark or black iron roofs which get so hot, but i think the idea is to extract warm air from inside the ceiling and use as house heating. Downside is not helping with climate change

Fitting with the year, temps. have gone from way above to way below average but while for all but one day ahead, temperatures are from near normal to 15 degrees below normal BUT (rim shot) the night time temp. are right at the average which is good as were they as much below average as the daytime temps. it would be well below freezing every day.

Very warm spring days here, mid to high 80s, cools off at night though so not so bad. Crab apple trees blooming nicely down in the valley.

The major change here is that winters are no longer as cold and don't last as long. Fifty years ago, average first frost was between Sept 20 and Oct 1. Today it is between October 20 and November 10. Spring is more chaotic with higher likelihood of very warm temps followed by a mild freeze. This does really bad things to early bud breaking trees.

We had snow last night, enough that one had to clear the car in the morning and even for Minn. that is a bit odd. This year has been an oddity with temp. either being above or below normal with very few, and I do mean very few on the average. The one thing I have been glad for was even though the oddly high night temp. in summer were disconcerting, the fact that the night temp. drops are not as off kilter as current daytime high drops is a good thing or we would have had frozen ground already and that would be NOT NORMAL or any where near.
