I'm note that the zuchini (pepo) is not runner and this is a recessif gene.
The dominant gene is runner.
Where come from the gene not runner?

My future project is to create a plant of maxima and a plant of moschata not runner by the croce of o zuchini not runner (pepo).
The gene not runner is recessive but the f2 could be give a maxima or moschata not runner.
Croce: (salmon (maxima) x green BL)x zuchini (pepo) black beauty
And butternut (moschata) x zuchini (pepo) black beauty
I rhink that green BL has a pepo of maxima and pepo

I will compare the apical meristhem of a zucchini pepo and a squash maxima.
The zucchini have a less cellular elongation than a squash i search the influence in the capacity to fructify and of repair after an attack for exemple slug. Or difficult conditions.
Moschata make a root more easily than maxima.
