How did your corn seeding go this year?
I have a black semi-clay soil called Black Gumbo which is naturally acidic and corn generally grows very well in it.
This year my corn crop is the best it has been in some years as I found out wild turkeys (they are far, far, far from wild and are winged vermin) have been digging up my seed for the past several years which is why a crop, which took very, very little effort to grow well, was becoming a total failure.
This year I took care to discourage them, short of killing them but may be in the future, and even though we are 5 inches short of rain average, I watered heavily at least once a week and other than being dry, the weather has been fantastic for gardening.

A lot of slugs are attacked the corn at the started of the germination and during the grow.I don't think the result will good.
