so far the melons this season have all been good. we're done with the earliest harvest from them and usually as the season fades the melons aren't as good but still edible.

We have found a beautiful buttercup is that from a cross you made or just a regular variety you planted? it looks good and interesting. most buttercup that i've grown here have been green only. i'm not sure we've gotten any to fruit here this year at all. sometimes i don't find all the squash right away. the blended cross of a squash i've grown several years now has got some orange in it but the more orange it has in it the less long it will store and we have to eat or process them early. i usually end up just processing everything once the weather has cooled off enough that i have to bring the squash in from the garage (or it will freeze out there) and we don't have great storage space for squash so it ends up being better if i just get it all cooked and then i can freeze it for later use.

Its a spontaneus plant: i throw a part of the seeds in the compost and sometimes some spontaneus plants give nice fruits.
I note that i get more and more funny squashs when i sow again the seeds each year. I try to get all the colors: blue, green, pink, orange and ocher.
