After rain and wet spring, drought, extreme, really hurt gardens and farms in a large part of middle Minnesota. Temp. were 20 degrees above average often in late Oct. with now, mid-November temps. have hit up to 25 degrees F, below average. If there is not a heavy snow and rain in spring, parts of mid-lower Minnesota are going to have tough year next year for farming and gardening.

We have had a roller coaster the last two years of long jags of extreme weather and similarily a drought type summer fall into winter where we literally had ash from wildfire falling yesterday and we do not live in a normally dry region but wet west coast rain forest . Usually local skiing venues would have a snow base and be open for skiing rather than helicoptering water to put out wildfires at this time of year . I am moving goat manure to the garden for my beds containing potatoes and leeks and garlic . I am not a good gardener so don't follow my lead but I am not wasting this stuff so planting away

We have had a drought in SE for almost a year. My corn barely made it sans irrigation. Now it seems like the weather forecast is always wrong for more then a month. It will show 30 percent chance of rain, a week away, by the time it gets here it’s at least 70 percent chance, still hasn’t been a lot of rain buts it’s been getting better. Heavy rain forecast in a few days! That storm started a week away as two 30 percent chance days, now it is a 70, 80, and two 60 percent chance. I always attribute it partially to me burning to draw in storms, I would have a hard time waiting for rain to come to me without burning, already used up much of the leaves…

Weather has gone from 20 degrees above average F to 20 degrees below average. Right now we just pulled out of singe digit night lows to 50 F a few hours ago. Long range forecast, for what it is worth, shows a steady slow drop , with not forecast sub-zero temps. (actually NOT a good thing) to a slow steady increase in spring with planting weather possibly a month early. With the extreme drought we had where my South garden is we need LOTS and LOTS of snow, or next year with miserable.

that is a pretty long season! we've had frosts for quite some time already, trees have already dropped mot of their leaves, snow has been on the ground a few times. recently it has been mixed enough that i was able to get outside to do some things and that is nice. today i could make progress on getting a garden ready for winter and if i can get one more break for a few hours i may be able to finish it and be completely done until next spring's season starts up again. above freezing overnight and 43F with light wind is perfect for what i need to get done, but it looks like it will be below freezing and colder tomorrow. i may try to do it anyways as the weather is getting more chances of rain and snow this coming week and colder. c'est la vie.

that is a very long growing season compared to our 163 days, but for growing the warmer season crops it is a shorter season than that - i only count on from towards the end of May until early to mid September.
we have a bit of snow on the ground again, but this year our first snow that stuck for a while was back in October. it's been warm enough to melt it off and this next week looks to be warm enough that we won't have any significant snow on the ground. we'll see though as a good storm can change everything rather quickly.

Its not the most long period without frost at france at Paris in 2014 it was not frost during 379 days.
The france is protected by the atlantic ocean. With the effect of the pollution and the ocean effect its happend sometimes stranger things.
Our climate is more continental than Paris and we are more frosts.
240 days is a long season but at the most hot of the summer some trees are lost their leafs and the grass was dry. The things are differents with the globalwarming. I have the stranger impression that the vegetation came in break in jully and august during the heatwaves and droughts.
