It's been quite a while since we've officially welcomed new members around here... we are a distracted group when we can be out growing! Please know that Homegrown is a great spot for new growers as well as advanced experts in agriculture. If you have a question, a comment, or an opinion, jump right in. Most of us don't bite. (Well, Michel probably does, but he's in Canada, and can't get to most of us. ;D ) We're glad you're here!

I'm the bad poet but my garlic grows pretty good! So far...
Jo - A developing farmer based on Bible teachings. Diversity, research, and chemical independence are key. Our top soil is about 12 to 18 inches of depleted sandy loam. Under that is a layer of light colored clay. Our sons will soon have more information as they learn to dig deeper and deeper holes.
I am new here too. I have spent the past few weeks browsing around the forum and learning about the online community here and I am very happy to have found it! The wealth of knowledge, friendliness and generosity is almost overwhelming!! Thank you to everyone for making us newbies feel welcome.
