Holly: I have a couple of apples, a peach, 7 cherries, about 12 plums, 3 apricots, and 4 pears that still have to be pruned.

Well that's a heckalotta pruning. You'd best get busy man. One at a time, one day at a time. Still too early here to start pruning, but today I must finish pulling out the tomatoes. The freeze has come and overnight, everything is black.
Take it slow.

Thanks for explaining what is happening. Extremely well written. You are an inspiration to all of us.

Dan, I started to get scared when I read about the shunt. Whew, I'm glad your sense of well being has returned. Try not to do everything in one day. You'll run out of menthol rub before Spring!

glad you are up and about, but your blog post on the shunt is dated a year ago <grin> I know you are slowing down, but are you now going in reverse?

A Legacy of Seeds - The Dan McMurray Community Seed Bank at the College of the Rockies in British Columbia is home to the seed collection of two avid seed savers - Val and Dan McMurray. I couldn't upload the file here because there's no space left so I loaded it to the Internet Archive - archive.org/details/SeedsOfDiversityFall2014

I see this and am reminded how much I miss Dan and Val and their post. Two of the kindest souls you could ever want to talk gardening with.
