I can't wait for Transformers to come out on DVD. October 16th, my wife is going to pick it up on the way home from work.

Another problem I had with the first AVP is the fact that they tried to make the predator a leading man type character, I mean what the hell, your supposed to be as equally afraid (if not moreso) of this thing as you are the aliens. No joke, at the end when he had his mask off and looked at her I actually said aloud in the theater "f-ing kiss her already" to which I got huge applause, I seriously felt some intergalactic, interspecies, nastiness was about to happen and that my friend is not right at all.
I want my Predators to scare humans, hunt them, skin them and hang them from trees or take their skulls for trophies, not make awkward I love you faces at their lady friends leading to a whole new version of the movie knocked up.

Speaking of intergalactic "romance", did you notice how much effort the design crew went into to make her kinda "predator-esque"? Not that she was "one ugly motherf*@&"(cause she wasn't!!) but that her hair, stance, and clothing seemed eerily familiar.
BTW, if you haven't seen Transformers yet, I highly recommend it!!!! Highly!!!!

I could have sworn there was some info on the AVP DVD special features about who has all the rights, etc., but when I watched it last night, I couldn't find it... Maybe it was on the other commentary? Anyway, I think Andy should pitch that idea.
I did take a gander at all the AVP series comix covers. It looks like a cool story - way better than the movie.
I too was unsatisfied with Alien Ressurection, which was doubly dissapointing because I think Joss Whedon is a genius...
I don't watch TV, just DVDs, so I haven't seen any movie trailers lately, but Transformers? Really?

I love the Alien, predator, and to a lesser extent terminator movies.
What I've really been into are vampire movies of all kinds. Everything the dracula 2000 series, John carpenters series, Bram stokers, Night watch, and underworld. I can't get enough. Although I can honestly saw I'd rather be a werewolf than a vampire.

One of my fav vampire movies is Blacula. Very bad 70's movie. They have been showing the old Twilight Zones here on PBS. YAY. I also like Tales from the Crypt. And does anyone else remember Creature Feature? With the hand coming up out of the ground?

Yes, creature feature is awesome. I'm currently still set in the AVP2 mindset, man I can hardly wait! They are actually showing t.v. spots now and I am crazy excited.
In other news, I stayed up and watched critters one and two the other night. Cheesy but absolutly great movies!
The old Twilight Zone is absolutly classic! And vampire movies are some of my favs, particularly the old universal flicks.

Forgot to ask is anyone as excited as I am for these...
Cloverfield (1-18-08) The Dark Knight- Heath Ledger as the Joker the way he was envisioned in the comics, enough said.
but most importantly:
Hellboy 2- Word has it if this one comes on well the cast has signed on for part 3 and Del Toro has dropped some hints regarding the rebirth of the classic Univeral horror monster line in the third instalment! Please...let's do this....Abe Sapian V.S. Creature from the black Lagoon, Hellboy V.S. Dracula and Frankenstein, appearances by the wolfman, bride of Frankenstein. Oh the possibilities and Del Toro is totally capable of this, just check out Pans Labrythith, that's all you need for proof.

IMO Hellboy was an excellent movie. I have watched it at least 5 times. Obviously not believable, but I can suspend disbelief for an hour and a half. Some of the one liners are GREAT. And besides I love cats too.

LOL, yes, yes, yes, I am a true Dork at heart. Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those guys that think that wrestling is real, I know it's totally fake, what I am a fan of though is the intricate ballance between acting and sportsmanship that wrestling presents, when I watch wrestling I am litterally critiquing in the same way that the folks who watch the monitors backstage do, that's my thing, I know I'm weird. I am also a huge fan of horror/sci-fi and to be completly honest I believe the first Alien movie is one of the most artistic, creative, and inteligent movies ever made, along with Alien 3....all the others are just monster movies and that's ok by me. Predator 1 was also quite groundgreaking along with (minus a few scenes) Predator 2 while the VS movies are nothing more than two monsters fighting, however that is very entertaining even if it isn't intelligent, sometimes I just need to see monsters beat the crap out of each other, it makes me feel better about my place in the world. Anyhow, good luck with the girl at the bar Had my time and days there as a proffesional Musician and am sort of glad their over now, not saying they were bad times, just glad I have something more than "what am I going to do tonight" or more aptly "who?". If you did babysit her father, be careful, I don't want to hear that you went into cardiac arrest on Christmas Eve! LOL -Alan
