I've got a bunch of persimmon trees started from good local wild populations of large fruited trees, two genotypes actually, both large fruited, one a huge type of tree, the other more dwarfing in stature, I started the seeds in the garden over the winter, simply covered them over with six inches of soil and allowed them to set, in June I dug them up, potted them up and have been selling them at market and babying a few of them for planting in our orchard.
fulenn, don't try to dig those trees, most likely they are not seedlings, but instead suckers which grow from the root of the main tree, they will produce fruit in time, take good care of them!
This fall I will have persimmon and paw paw seeds available.
