Yep, 6F at 5am--my husband woke me to beg for a ride to work. Didn't want to freeze on his bike. All we need is some perma-ice sheets decorating the roads and it'll be just like a normal winter!
The frigid, dry air made for gorgeous star watching too. Just before dawn we had Venus and Antares glowing in Scorpio at the SE horizon, the crescent moon a hands' width above and then Jupiter in Virgo mid-sky.

17F here this morning. We've had a couple of torrential downpours here this past 8-10 days. Not enough for flooding as in some other places though.

A nice warm day in the 50's today. But before the snow melts and the ground thaws enough to resume work, more snow and cold is on the way. I'm going to get some seeds planted out to stratify; should get plenty of fluctuation with Colorado weather. And hopefully we will get a nice February thaw so I can get some work done before the spring rains.

Rain stopped ~3:30; hope to work tomorrow; rain predicted Thursday; may need to work Friday (feh); in any event, need to triage my seed collection for stuff that should be sown now.
Think I'll separate sweet red onions from dry yellows and scallions, but not so much. Prolly got lots of leeks to plant higgledy-piggledy.

Glad you finally got some moisture steev . It's been moist and foggy down here. Good for potting up TPS potato starts in the greenhouse. Makes the garden mucky but it's nice for photography!

Having plenty of water in your rivers flowerweaver must mean your well would have plenty of water in too. Huge amount of rain due up in the alps over the next day or so hopefully should put some water in my nearby dry river there for archiving the same thing.

Rained out of work this morning and occasionally all day; coming down well right now. If it's raining tomorrow morning, I may make a farm run, having a full load of bunny-beans, thereby clearing the decks for whatever I can do this week-end, although a one-day roundtrip is tiring and costly.

Was about 50 F here today with some rain. Prediction is for a little snow tomorrow and going down to single digits for a little while.
It had been 40 years since we had daytime highs below zero F and hope the last two winters were it for another 40. This year I'm actually hoping to see some single digit night time lows and highs below freezing, just no need to get carried away about it.

Well I'm shocked, the TV goofballs were right. Temps fell 300 over night and it's snowing. It's a wet snow and wind is blowing pretty good out of the west, hard enough to stick it to the trees. Gonna be a pretty day for a walk. It's fun to go out and follow critter tracks and feel the snow hitting your face. Maybe take some pictures. The dog won't come out of her house but she will when she sees me with my walking stick, poor little critter is hard wired for it. The woman put some houseplants out in the rain yesterday and forgot to bring them in before coming to bed. I got em melting off in the bath tub, succulents are probably ok, the rest, maybe not.
Definitely have to inspect fence around my borrowed garden across the road, it will be easy to tell if the coons are recolonizing the old house and find their entrances and if they are crossing under the fence anywhere. The coon wars never end. If I find any tracks I'll put out my traps.

65F in Philadelphia today (new record); temps plummeting to the 20s by morning. Quite the climatic roller coaster!

Last night at 7 PM it was 55F, tonight at 7 PM it's 9F, roller coaster for sure. We did get a couple inches of snow. Wonder how much colder it will get, not to far below zero I hope.
