It's been blessedly cool, this week; even rained a bit last night, just enough to settle the dust; didn't wash the p'up, which is getting pretty grotty from the leaf-hopper "dew" that rains from the street-trees; only 4-5 months until "car-wash".
It had been warm enough that the skeets were bugging me, if I didn't shut the window; I hate those little blood-suckers!

Weather roller coaster here too. What little snow was on the mountains largely disappeared overnight thanks to warm winds, should get up to around 19Cdeg which is warm for winter.

We hit 95 yesterday, probably today too but thankfully it clouded up and rained a little. Only 86 by the time I got home. Still raining a little now and really glad for it. My potatoes that are blooming really need it as do my bush beans. The beans are loaded with blooms and small pods. I was going to water tonight and probably still will tomorrow as I don't expect a significant amount of rain.

too hot to go out, to hot to play ball, so we stayed in the house and did nothing at all. Actually we got up at o'dark thirty to weed, water and pick. Then we fled. High 80's and heading to the 100's. I NEVER wish for summer. Lately we just don't have a spring. Or rather we have 2 weeks of spring, 2 weeks of fall, followed by 3 months of winter and 8 months of summer. Hot and unrelenting. One of these days I'm going to move somewhere that has a spring for 6 months of the year.

Hot & muggy here, with thunderstorms & drenching rains. Given that the year has been cooler & wetter than normal thus far, the heat - as uncomfortable as it is - is just what the garden needed. We had just enough of a dry spell for DW & I to get most of the rural (low laying) garden planted before the rain rolled in. More rain on the way in a few hours. It may be awhile before it dries out enough to get in the gardens again, so what we couldn't get planted, I've started in pots... with my short summers, we are nearing the deadline for seed crops.

Lots of seeds fallow seeds awaiting what looks like a huge band of thunderstorms running east NE over Lake Michigan headed my way....been a most gracious spring and June NO complaints!

Weird! About 1AM, this morning, it rained heavily and lightninged a couple minutes; no thunder; too high up; usually only get lightning in the Bay Area when it rains in late August, every 5 years or so.
Sure is June's heat, now, but a bit more than usual; records falling.
Possibly as a result of drought years, followed by excess rain, trees are still occasionally falling; my sweetheart has a rental house, 20's/30's vintage, with old shrubs; a large Tibouchia (Princess Plant) just fell over on Sunday, totally rotted out at the roots; whole p'up of plant off to the dump.

Last two days have seen light frosts, then pleasant clear blue sky days. Hardly any snow on the mountains yet which wont be much joy for skiers though some ski fields have been making man made snow over the last few weeks.

It's been nasty hot in NorCal; grass-fires are erupting; feh! The "Administration" is cutting funds for fire-control; who don't these bell-ends want to piss off? Where's my tumbrel? Of course, I'd need a guillotine big enough to cut off their asses, that being so clearly where their heads are.
Hasn't been any snow visible on the western peaks for two weeks, but apparently Sierra ski resorts (East) expect to be open through July 4th; unprecedented. There was a recent study released indicating that mountain snow-pack has a measurable effect on earthquakes; weighing down and then releasing, as it melts; this having been a record year for snow-fall, after years of record deficit: maybe rock-and-roll!
The Summer Solstice is upon us; here in NorHem, the Light is dying; you in SoHem: enjoy the attention of Our Great Father, the Sun; we'll reclaim Him, come our turn. Be well; may your efforts be more productive than you've hoped; World without end, Inshallah!
