The cold and snow have driven a lot of birds to our feeders the past few days. It's been a tough week for the wildlife out there!
Had a great horned owl calling a few nights ago - they are staking out nesting territories as we head into January. Not common, a real treat to hear in our neck of the woods!

Four above here and I probably should go out and fill the bird feeder plus put out a bowl of beef fat I spooned off of a a dish and put out on the frozen porch. Animals show up mostly early which is odd as that is when it is coldest.

They predict possible light rain tonight and more serious rain off-and-on during the next week; I need the work-time, but I need the water more; I sure hope it does the farm some good.
