direct seeded tomatoes from 2020 direct sown in march, replanted in late may due to weed problems my own landrace, strongly segregating, many types of fruits, some showed good late blight tolerance

I ate Hokkaido, Spaghetti and Butternuts so far. None of them is close to Sweet Dumpling. Sweet Dumpling has a distinctive taste of its own. When it is cut open it smells very intensive like Castanea (don`t know in english) the taste is also like Castanea and sweet at the same time. The taste can stand by its own, no need for spices.
It sounds like acorns have a different taste then.

Shiitake is popping up on my lawn Canoncito Sweet Corn, rather disappointing this year my first Maypop flower I will get a fruit this year a pole bean out of my frost trial. probably a hybrid. my sweet potato and Tomatillo patch , some weeks ago Citrus hybrid seedlings (5Star Citrumelo F2) Ichang Papeda x Poncirus (N1tri) F2 an Ichang papeda hybrid you can see a tiny side leaf on left top leaf a Sanford Curafora x Batumi Citrumelo hybrid
mildew tolerant yellow sugar pod peas. needs to be tested again

Hallo Eric! In such a case I collect the seeds separately and grow both types again next year with some distance to each other. Which allows a little gene flow but not too much. Often there are some good among the second choice types. Do you have pictures? Today I collected about 10 fruits of Canoncito. They are starting to ripen now.
