My dad was talking about cooking a duck on top of a turkey. Then we discussed Turduckhen. My grandma used to bake a snapping turtle and chicken together. I'm not sure which went on top.

I have never heard of that before, interesting. Does one improve the flavor of the other? Maybe make the bottom one juicier or more tender somehow?

What goose comes with is a copious supply of goose-grease; best ever for greasing a potato, prior to baking for light, crispy skin.

Uck, still no snow cover here. 5 seconds later all the skin was gone. Hey LM, that's so funny, and that also happens here!

Best part of the bird. People who want their poultry skinless are so unclear on the concept!

Beautiful winter solstice day yesterday, and our new famdamily addition, Gabby, really made the most of it with the rest of the crew...I have to get to knitting her a bigger coat me thinks... New addition ....Gabby's first snow... Gabby finding old toys... Gabby's into sledding... Break time with Sammy, hubs and Gabby... Gabby loves the big dogs, too...her playing with a lively Lizzie... Imagine herding goats at age six weeks and two days... An icy Gabby ready to cozy up to the woodstove inside the cabin...
