Too cold to sit out nights OTF in a T-shirt; rain is 4-6 weeks late.

Had about 3 inches of rain last couple of days, it's weirdly warm right now and extremely humid so more rain maybe even storm is possible. Supposed to maybe get some snow soon. We have had a few mornings with some frost and one with a little ice on the truck but no real killing freeze as of yet.

Another rainless week. Had Sukie at the vet's for six months 'cause they couldn't get the parts, things being shut down for covid; now can't take her out for a canter 'cause the soil is still concrete; I begin to despair of a winter crop; damn, I've got Alliums and Brassicas I want in the ground. This is when we "normally" get our heavy storms; luckily, this is all a climate-change hoax, so it must be a hallucination.

we are pretty much done here for the winter. i don't plant much for the winter because we close up the fenced gardens and planting anything outside of the fenced gardens is asking for deer problems. i do have some onion sprouts that will finish up more as the winter gets going. the garlic should be poking up eventually if we get any sunny/warm enough days.

We have had unseasonably warm weather for nearly two weeks, but today starting the rapid slide into "normal for this time of year" -12 C to -20 C by next week. Can't complain since finally was able to get a couple cords of firewood in, stacked and covered. It seems everyone this year decided to heat with wood, so finding dry wood has been difficult and expensive, the latest load was brought by three guys who not only delivered but stacked and covered it which was a HUGE help, they seem to have decided to take me under their collective wing, which is rather nice of them and much appreciated. We shall see. I'm good for firewood at least into January now which is a huge relief.
