Heavy rain, tornadoes and hail warnings right now north and south of me. Tornadoes are on the ground in the boonies so far. We had an inch of rain this morning and second storm is about to hit. Tornado sirens are now blowing.
No cities hit by tornadoes known so far. Very heavy rain and they are warning those East of us of straight line winds.

I'm having a cool, rainy summer. That's by Kansas standards. Crops are mostly good.

Out in the valley, Sacramento, Stockton, and Modesto all posted record highs for August on Saturday; OTF Sunday, I woke to thunder and occasional spells of rain for a couple hours; Monday was the same, except it came and went all day, totaling NMT 0.4", I'm sure, and so scattered that it dried instead of sinking in.

Heat warnings again for all this week....last week a tornado touched down about a hundred miles from here, tossed some cars around, killed two people and hospitalized another. It's still hard for me to remember that tornados are not uncommon in the prairies, they seldom do any damage here it seems, or at least none that gets reported. This one seems to have been an anomaly, hopefully stays that way.
