I find now that my husband is away most of the time, I'm in a rut meal wise. (He's the real chef in the family.) If I ask the kids what they want to eat, the answer is always either pizza or sushi, both of which they would prefer I get from a restaurant. So, I thought there's a possibilty if us bouncing ideas off each other, and perhaps some new things will show up on our dining tables...
Tonight, we're having roasted winter vegetable pie, tossed green salad, and yogurt with fruit. What are you eating?

When I got home from work, supper was ready and waiting to sit down at the table. Who cares what he made? The fact is, that he made it.

Okay, tonight we had asian flavored veggie burgers on pitas (I usually make my own veggie burgers, but these are a Morning Star product - I wasn't home all day) edamame, orange slices, and french fries. Kind of a fast food meal but at home. I've got ideas for the next couple days, but that's about it, guys... come on... tell me what you've had for dinner recently!

Corned Beef Hash tonight. I know, it sounds like we just eat diner food, but that's not normally the case. I'm off for the weekend now. Time to do some real cooking. There was a bean soup in the paper yesterday with wide, rough cut noodles. Just the perfect soup for a winter weather supper, accompanied by that crusty bread recipe I posted a few weeks back. Clarkbar mentioned crockpot!! How about Meatball subs?? The following crockpot recipe gives directions for meatballs; servings from 8 to 48. Of course you don't have to serve the meatballs in a bun..they could just as easily be on top of Spaghetti, all covered with cheese...Or, picky party food!! Your choice. www.30daygourmet.com/Contest/Recipe_of_the_Month_Winners/2004_01_Recipe.asp

Thanks Blue! I usually make meatballs in mass quantity once a month or maybe 6 weeks... Freeze them individually after baking them off, so I have freezer bags of them ready to throw into marinara whenever I need a quick meal. You've reminded me that I'm almost out of my stash! I never thought of using the slow cooker for them.

The other night was spaghetti and meatballs, salad and baguette. Tonight, roasted chicken and veggies(crockpot), baked potatoes (microwave), and salad. Tomorrow night, baked pasta or rigatoni (left over spag sauce, baked with pasta, cottage cheese, mozza and cheddar, baguette, and salad.
We try to eat a lot of salad, especially cause I don't particularly like veggies. And I love to bake, so I usually make bread every couple days or so, different types, depends on what I feel like doing! But For me to have any idea what I'm cooking tomorrow is rare unless it's leftovers!!!!
Love to hear more ideas too, I'm stuck making the same things all the time too!

Tonight we had cinnamon almond french toast, bacon, and fruit. Nothing more comforting sometimes than breakfast for dinner...

Cheese burgers in Paradise...I like mine with lettuce & tomato, jalapeno jelly & a big glob of mayo...(Sorry Jimmy, I know it was a little off tune ) Served as always on a very large sesame seed bun. Tomorrow, I'm doing something with squash. Sunday, we are having braised chicken pieces...what I'm braising them with at this stage of the game is anyone's guess?

I just love tunamacpea. Easy and not too unhealthy. I add neat cheeses. It's better than that chocolate bar calling my name...sometimes I just eat cheese and crackers. But, if I had kids, I'm sure it would be a different story. Oh, wait, I do have a kid. Oh, I forgot, that's my BF. Spring and summer I remember to cook 'cause we have so much stuff coming in from the garden. But in the winter, I just forget. BF could eat fried chicken every day, while I prefer things like couscous, wheatberry salads, sushi etc.
